Our biggest hurdle with this project has been finding the right location and finally, we’ve got one we think will work! It’s 62 Pierpoint Ave in Rutland, City and it offers 13,000 square feet of potential build space. It’s located near a public school and can connect to the Creek Bike path, providing ample grant opportunities. The best part, it is already owned by Rutland City!
But before we get too excited, we must get formal approval from the city to move forward with site testing, planning, park design and the like. We aim to do just that on Wednesday, October 21st. We will be presenting to The Recreation Committee of the Rutland Board of Alderman as well as members of the Department of Public Works at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall.
If you’d like to join us, you are welcome. Please email me at brookegeery at gmail so we can get an idea of how many people to expect and if we will need a larger space.
Thanks for your interest and support of this project!
